OMG IT HURTS!!!

Talk about wanting to throw myself down on the floor and have a fit like a baby! My thumb is killing me! This morning while I was trying to get the kids to school on time, I tossed a water bottle back to my son and that’s when it happened! My thumb jammed against the passenger seat and my finger felt like it was on fire! Whhhhyyyyyy meeeee :'(:'(😭😭?!?!? The worse part is the nail polish remover that got into the wound. I had to take off the polish from the mani my daughter did for Easter so I could see the extent of the damage. I cut off all I could. The break goes all the way down into the nail bed. I have tried mending nails before with nail glue and a tea bag but they never worked. Youtube here I come…I have to fix this ASAP!

HAPPY EASTER

I looove having a daughter. My daughter decided to make my Easter treat something extra special. She did my nails for me. She’s 11 and I think she has great potential. Can’t wait until I don’t have to do my own nails anymore and I can go to her for manis ;)😄

Autism speaks

   April is Autism Awareness Month and April 2nd (at most schools) is “Light it up blue, Autism Speaks Day”. As many of you know, my son has Autism so I wanted to make sure I do something to help raise awareness.   In the video I tried a new way to make the puzzle pieces. I’m not thrilled with it but I still like it. The song playing was chosen by my son, it’s “Breathe” by The Prodigy. I hope you guys like it and try to do some recreations. The forgotten recreation

I very frequently go through other profiles liking pictures and I come across manis that I think are so cute, so I try to recreate them. This is one of those instances. I did this mani a few months back and I had decided not to post it because of the how messy the base color looks toward my cuticle. I had pretty much forgotten about the mani until I was deleting pics in my phone to make room for new ones.
   When I came across this recreation of mine, I again thought that this was that the mani was a fail but I still like the cuteness of the little figures so against my original better judgment I decided to post it now anyway 🙂

Dots, Dots everywhere

 

    Hey everyone. I was tagged on IG for “throwback nails”. These manis are on my IG but you will have to do alot of scrolling to get to them aaaaall the way at the bottom.
   When I first got into doing nails all I knew was how to make dots using a toothpick. So, for about 2 years all I did was straight lines, dots and flowers (made with dots in a pattern).Then after a while I learned to draw with a toothpick (pic below).

   The picture above was one of the first manis I did drawing with the toothpicks. It took me almost 3 hours…my poor daughter lol. This past Halloween in did the same mani using brushes and I was done in under an hour (had to give the polish time to dry in between base coat and my base color). I am soooo happy that I have brushes now. I got my brushes around October of 2014 so I am still kind of a newbie using them. I know I probably use the wrong brushes on some designs but it’s a process. Hopefully by this time next year I will have it down pack ;)😆

All of my blues

I was nominated by 2 IG accounts to show my blue polishes for the #bluepolishwar. It’s crazy how many blues I have collected in the the past 3 1/2 months. When I first started my instagram 13 weeks ago I only owned about 17 polishes. Now I have over 200! Yikes! My obsession is out of control. I know my hubby probably wishes he could stick my in a nail polish rehab lol.

Blue Dotticure with Purple Diamond Accent Nail Tutorial

Hey Guys! I decided to keep it pretty simple today so I went with a dotticure mani with an accent design. For my accent nail on my ring finger, I use a white polish as my base color and did the purple diamond shapes and lines in the side with acrylic paint. I then dotted each diamond shape with a blue. For the rest of my fingers I used blue as my base color and dotted with the purple acrylic paint and white polish.

For this mani I use ESSIE’s 3-way glaze for my base, White by Cosmetic Arts and Essie’s Strut Your Stuff blue. I finished off with my 3-way glaze again for my top coat. As always, I applied some of the ESSIE apricot cuticle oil when the nails were dry.

Why is my pinky nail so long?

    I get asked all of the time why my pinky nail is sooo much longer than my other nails. I honostly try to avoid giving an explanation because the answer is pretty weird. I have decided to put it on here though because I know everyone is very curious.
    I happen to have some of the worse allergies! Ever since I was little I have been like the people that you see in Claritin comnercials…itchy eyes (which is why I have dark circles around my eyes…the broken capillaries), sneezy and stuffy nose (mostly just in the mornings though) and the WORSE symptom that they never mention is the itchy ears. It drives me crazy. I’m sure that at some point you have heard people making those weird noises that they consider (scratching their throat) and/or have seen people put objects in their ears to try to get to the itch (pen tops, paper clips or other odd objects). Oppose to sticking foreign objects in my ears, I use my nail. I know it sounds kind of weird and gross but it’s better than the alternative. About 7 years ago I had itchy ears for days on end and I was using qtips which led to me rupturing my tympanic membrane in my left ear causing PERMANENT hearing loss.
    It personally drives me crazy having the longer nail when I do designs. It just never looks quite right but I deal with it.
   So that’s the dish on my nails 🙂
